Suddenly, a furious Hyeon-yeong storms into the room and slaps In-hae for firing PK. Jeol steps in, holding his wife back, and coldly reveals that he always knew she was cheating on him—but by physically striking his employee, she has officially crossed the line.
4. Jealous Tracking
While applying ointment to a scratch on In-hae's face (which she got during the scuffle), Ki-jun is frustrated that she continues to push him away. Later, he sees In-hae leaving the office in a car with Jeol's rival step-brother, Sung-yeol. After mourning at her mother's memorial, In-hae encountered Jeol standing on a mountain peak, preparing to jump to his death. His mother was institutionalized, and Jeol felt entirely alone. In-hae motivated him to stay alive, telling him that suicide achieves nothing and encouraging him to find a reason to live.
Later, Jeol offered In-hae a ride home in his car. Soon after, they became partners in Haemu Group. In-hae fiercely protected Jeol from corporate schemes, particularly those orchestrated by his ambitious step-brother, Sung-yeol.
Despite their intense connection and Jeol's feelings, they broke up when Jeol was forced into a high-society marriage to secure corporate alliances.
2. Ki-jun’s Jealousy and the PM Investigation
Back in the present, In-hae explains her past with Jeol to Ki-jun. She clarifies that the photo of them hugging in the parking lot was simply Jeol expressing his joy when she first returned to Korea.
